Holy Spirit, You are Welcome Here!

Have you heard the expression that it is the wife who sets the tone for the entire house? Or the common phrase, "If mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"I do believe there is some truth to those sayings because, often times, the wives play a significant role in setting the tone of the house.

What tone are you setting?

Yesterday morning, I ended my personal quiet time with the song Holy Spirit by Bryan and Katie Torwalt. If you've never heard it - you tube it right now. It is amazing! As I was singing this song to the Lord, I was filled with such peace knowing that it was a perfect song to pray that would help set a Christ-like tone for my family.

I desire to set a God-glorifying tone in my house. A tone where Jason can come home from work and feel a difference in his spirit. Our house isn't to be like the rest of the world. It is a home of grace, love, kindness, joy, peace, and faithfulness (just to name a few things :). A haven. I can only create that atmosphere if I'm being filled with the Holy Spirit each day and am praying for the Holy Spirit to continually flood the atmosphere of my house.

Then, I realized that one of the best ways to minister to my husband is to pray for him to be overcome by the Spirit. My husband is a amazing man of God, but, believer or not, who wouldn't benefit from a prayer to be truly overcome, stopped dead in their tracks, by the love and presence of the Living God? We all need that! How might an unbelieving spouse be softened to the Lord if we specifically prayed for him to be overcome each and every day. How would a believer become more intentional in their faith? The possibility for growth is endless!

For those who might be interested, here are the lyrics to the song and the words I will be praying over our home and my husband!

There is nothing worth more
That will ever come close
Nothing can compare
You're our Living Hope
Your Presence

I've tasted and I've seen

Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart becomes free
And my shame is undone

Your presence Lord

Holy Spirit You are welcome here

Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence Lord

Your presence Lord

There is nothing worth more

That will ever come close
You are our Living Hope

Your presence Lord

I've tasted and I've seen

Of the sweetest of loves
Where my heart is set free
And my shame is undone

Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence Lord

Let us become more aware of Your presence
Let us experience the glory of Your goodness

Holy Spirit You are welcome here
Come flood this place and fill the atmosphere
Your glory God is what our hearts long for
To be overcome by Your presence Lord
